HEALING OF A BABY
I should like to tell of an instantaneous healing when my baby boy was only a few months old. On returning home one morning I found my little girl looking out for me, to say that I was wanted immediately. She did not know why, but thought the baby was ill, as he had suffered a little from sickness that morning. When I entered the room I found the baby limp and white in the nurse's arms, scarcely breathing; and the nurse, in tears, said there seemed to be no life left. We were young in Science, and I was so filled with fear that for a moment I was tempted to call in a doctor; but, instead, I telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner begging her to help the baby at once, as he seemed so very ill. I went back to my room and read aloud out of Science and Health, trying not to think of material conditions, but to realize the presence of God. In a few moments I knew that the loving help had been given, for I heard the baby move; and as I looked up I saw the color come gently to his face. It seemed just as if a flower were unfolding in the warmth of the sun. In less than ten minutes he was perfectly well, dancing on his feet with all his might.
This is only one of the many healings which are teaching me that God is an ever present help in trouble. It is with deep gratitude that I take the privilege of sending my testimony as an expression of thanks to God for the many blessings that I have received. I am extremely grateful, too, to those who have shown so much love and patience in helping me to understand this wonderful truth, and for the Christian Science Sunday School. My desire is to prove my gratitude also to Mrs. Eddy for her great love for mankind in giving Christian Science to the world.
